Unlikely… But, Boy, We Like It! Target Partners with Neiman Marcus for Holiday Collection

Discount giant Target and luxury chain Neiman Marcus have recently unveiled their Holiday Collection, a smashing lineup of gifting options from 24 of America’s most talented designers. The best part? The price points are oh-so-versatile: these designer creations range from $7.99 to $499.99, with most items at under $60. Check out the lookbook and the rest of the deets after the jump.

Target and Neiman Marcus Unveils Holiday Collection Lookbook

Everyone’s abuzz about the news, and we can see why. It isn’t just because it’s rare for a Lela Rose dress to go on sale for less than $100. Largely known for its extravagant holiday catalogs (a $35 million Boeing jet, anyone?), one has to wonder how Neiman Marcus‘ partnership with America’s favorite cheap-chic store will affect the shopping industry. Will it get more people walking into NM’s doors? (Possible.) Will Target benefit from the subtle luxe upgrade? (We definitely think so.) Will other shopping outlets follow suit and further blur the lines between designer and discount lines? (That sounds like a win for budget fashionistas everywhere!)

Questions aside, here’s the Target+Neiman Marcus Holiday Collection Lookbook. All the items here will go on sale starting December 1st at all Target and Neiman Marcus stores, as well as on Target.com and NeimanMarcus.com.

  1. Queen Chic says

I had heard about this collaboration a few months ago and was excited to see the products.  Sadly, I’m very disappointed.  I would expect more for these premier designers.  Most of the items are like the last remains from a garage sale (a Christmas ornament? wrapping paper? a dog collar?  Seriously?!).  All the previous designer collaborations were stellar (hello Missioni)!!  I’ll blame it on the fact that they were too busy preparing for the (respective) fashion weeks…
