There’s a Talbots outlet in San Leandro, CA – SF Bay Area in Northern California. Very good for basics—Talbots is not exactly cheap, but the outlet has very reasonable prices and great sales. I just bought some white linen slacks for $11.75 that were originally $140. Their sales at the beginning and end of the season are very good, and they also have shoes—not many, but it pays to check, because they often have wide sizes and sizes 10-1/2 and 11. I’ve bought 2 pairs of boots there—an ankle boot for $35 that was originally about $150 and a stretch boot that was a similar price for $29.
I’m a plus size and wear suits to work most days. Talbots is very conservative, but the suit basics can be jazzed up with great shells and blouses. Also, the outlet often has cocktail/evening type separates – plus, misses and petites—very affordable. A satin 3/4 length coat was there last month in black or taupe silk, $44 after originally being about $200. AND, the outlet is in the same mall as a great Nordstrom Rack—another great resource for plus sizes, since all Racks no longer carry plus sizes.
TBF Note: Talbots can be pretty pricey, however the outlets tend to have a excellent sales. Shop the outlet when looking for basic pieces or if your style tends to lean a bit more on the conservative side. If you have a reader tip you would like to share, submit it here.
