Elie Tahari is an Israeli- American designer who migrated to America in the 70’s to being an electrician in 1971. Tahari started his line in 1974 and was one of the first designers to open a boutique on New York’s Madison Avenue. His style is comfortable day wear, usually in muted colors and sometimes with Middle Easterned influenced beading and sequins. Known to masses for his epyonmous line of affordable career clothing (found at stores like Macys, Bloomingdales and the sales racks of your local Marshalls), Tahari also has a higher end collection called Elie Tahari.
