Guest Post: Would You Use Swipely, The New Twitter for Your Credit Card?

I must admit that I was a little wary when I first started reading about Swipely, a new free social networking platform that syncs with your credit card so that every purchase you make shows up on your profile page.

Sounds somewhat terrifying, no? Having everyone know exactly what you buy, when you bought it (e.g., insomniac shopping sprees at 3 a.m.), and how much you paid?

Well, happily, Swipely figured out that an approval process was a good idea, so now nothing appears on your page until you okay it first.

Additionally, prices are not included, unless you add them in yourself, which means your Swipely account will not–phew!–be a mirror image of your mounting credit card bill.

Swipely’s coolest feature? Space to describe and discuss your purchases. Here atLucky we just love this idea because we are all about dissecting how, why, and what we buy.

I like the idea of sharing my recent wardrobe additions with others, but I would really be devoted to Swipely if stylish celebrities like Sienna Miller or former Lucky cover girl Rachel Bilson signed up for it. I know I can’t be the only one who is beyond interested in finding out exactly where they shop and what they buy.
