What: The stripes trend has migrated from garments to hot summer accessories
What We Say: Earlier this season, we reported on the horizontal stripe trend, which still seems to be in full force this summer. But while in theory wearing stripes sounds current and chic, for some of us, the big candy stripes cutting straight across our torsos just ain’t gonna happen. So we love the idea of bringing the trend into your wardrobe in a more subtle way, and as every budget fashionista knows (especially with the rising cost of living) trendy accessories are a less expensive way to add a little style to what you’ve already got.
Our Picks:
Canvas Satchel, $16.99, Charlotte Russe
Yacht Espadrille, on sale $14.99, Payless
Striped Bow Tote, $14.80, Forever21

I agree with you about things switching from clothes to accessories. But patterns and florals are beginning to take over now. Some designers, though, do like to keep it simple and sophisticated, like Vera Wang for example. Others, on the other hand, are very into the prints, such as Diane Von Furstenberg. Prints are soaring now as we continue into the year. I, personally, love prints, especially with a good solid pump. You can wear it anywhere. And being a teenager, this is definitely important.
