Street Fashion 101: In Black and White

| October 11, 2007 09:44 PM | Posted in

The Budget Fashionista teams with Streetpeeper.com to bring you style lessons from trend-setters on the street.

The Look: Seen on the street during Spring 2008 Fashion Week in New York, she’s pulled together in a ZHlot skirt, Pierre Arterre heels, and a Lolly bag.
For the Style File: Let’s face it, black and white is the classic combination. While it’s reliable, it can also be too safe, even dated. Fend off boredom by doing black and white in an attention-grabbing graphic print with modern shapes, like this high-waisted, houndstooth-look skirt. And, we love love love a dose of color, so go ahead - wear those red peep toe pumps (click here for a great budget pair). They like to get out, too.

Ooh, I like the fact that the houndstooth is large enough for big graphic impact, and inverted from the usual white-on-black. Also, Fashionista, thanks for posting the StreetPeeper finds. I check the sartorialist’s blog, but Peeper’s looks are def more funky, and more my style. Kudos, chica!
