Street Fashion 101: Color Palette

| December 14, 2007 01:00 AM | Posted in

The Budget Fashionista and Streetpeeper.com continue to bring you style notes from the fashion front lines

The Look: In London, a blue vintage chiffon top, green vintage coat, black wide-leg pants, blue headband and white accessories, including a very cool blue-and-white hexagon bracelet.

For the Style File: When black is so easy to fall back on, many of us are afraid (or claim we don’t like) to wear color. But it’s a look like this that should inspire—bold color, in surprising, sophisticated combinations, is a powerful fashion statement. Here, cobalt blue paired with teal green is striking, especially when tied together with interesting but neutral accessories. So here’s your chance: now that winter’s upon us don’t be afraid to pick out a colored coat (fun hues are hot in wool coats this year and there are lots of budget-friendly options). Be creative in mixing and matching and you’ll make a statement all your own.
