ShopTalk: Dr. Robert Rey, E Network’s Dr. 90210 and Shapewear Designer
When it comes to undergarments, I’m all about the packaging—everything should be properly placed and pointing in the same direction (to understand the importance of packaging just look at an episode of VH1’s “I Love New York 2”). So, I was totally hyped to chat with Dr. Robert Rey, plastic surgeon extraordinaire and star of the strangely addictive E! show “Dr. 90210” who together with Australian designer Bruno Schiavi, recently developed a new shapewear line for Sears and HSN. This line packages so well that it makes Spanx look like training garments (note—go one size up if you like to breathe). According to Dr. Rey, who is bit crazy in a fabulous sort of way, the undergarments are “plastic surgery in a box”, reducing you by one full dress size.

That sounds great! There definitely needs to be more options for women who can’t afford or don’t want to have plastic surgery.
Interesting, I’m wondering will this line be any different from all the others, especially for the plus size women such as myself.

I’m very interested in what people think of the Shapewear because I’ve read some mixed reviews online. What I love about Spanx is that there is no boning or otherwise uncomfortable structure involved in the garment and it still works. What I love about the Shapewear, though, is that it comes in large bra sizes!
I was looking into Spanx, but these look like a better buy, the results are more dramatic, and the prices are great!
shapewear is definitely more “old School”... more of a girdle than spanx. I tried on a pair and I was “packaged” very well. It also comes in larger sizes (up to a 3x).
I’m interested in anything that “packages” me well! Thanks for the info….
i can`t make my mind up but all the reviews i have been reading i think i`m going to go buy the shapewear asap
