I have gotten rid of stuff easily on freecycle, but as far as getting stuff, it’s been very difficult. There are (apparently) people on my local freecycle that stalk it and snatch up everything before anyone else can get it. My neighborhood group and local craigslist are a little bit slower and more manageable, though.

I love it! Been a member for years and I have gotten so many cool things from it. And got rid of so much crap I didn’t know what to do with.

I’m lucky to happen to live in somewhat of a “freecycling” neighborhood. When someone is trying to get rid of an old couch, lamp, etc.—still in OK condition, not yet ready for the dump, but too bulky to drag to Goodwill—neighbors place it on their front sidewalk with a “FREE” sign. Sure enough, the piece usually gets taken by someone. You know what they say: one man’s trash is another man’s treasure!
