California-based Rocket Dog, announced the launch of its eco-conscious footwear collection for women. The debut eco-conscious collection will feature six styles in various colors, made from re-usable and eco-friendly materials. But the best part (besides the fact that they are oh-so-cute) is the price: $49 – $69! The shoes will be available in stores, as well as online as early as April 2009.
What makes this collection of budget-friendly shoes eco-conscious? The use of reusable materials that would otherwise go to waste, organic cotton, hemp and recycled aluminum. Everything from the soles, to the stitching, to the ink printed on points of purchase are created with this same environmentally conscious, re-use philosophy.
“Being aware of the environment is an example of the core values of our company as well as our customers,” explains Mike Womack, President of Rocket Dog. “The eco-conscious collection is an imperative first step in the reduction of our carbon footprint. Wherever possible, we will take full advantage of the processes throughout the total collection.”
We’re looking forward to spring…
