Who doesn’t love to eat out? Whether it’s trying a new dish, or your usual at the local restaurant, it’s one of life’s pleasures to enjoy sitting back and letting someone else do the cooking.
However, those dinners out come at a price – a price that’s considerably cheaper when you make the same dish at home. Some popular chair restaurants have long been packaging some of their more popular foods for sale as frozen items in the grocery store. While it is a more budget-friendly option than ordering at the restaurant, in many cases it’s still not the same as the real thing.
The Internet to the rescue! Many restaurants now offer recipes for some of their in-house favorites on their Web site. Check out the Olive Garden’s recipe page, as well as Red Lobster and Panera Bread (we especially like the Vegetable Garden Frittata – delish!)
In addition, there are scads of Web sites that offer “copycat” recipes for more popular restaurant recipes. All Restaurant Recipes and Top Secret Recipes offers many free recipes for chain restaurants, fast-food restaurants, and popular name brand items. Check out the recipe for Girl Scouts’ Thin Mints.
