What: Karie hopes that the expression “out, darn spot” comes true with Olay Definity Deep Penetrating Foaming Moisturizer; $24.99.
The Lowdown: A few years ago, a momentous event happened to me: I got my first age spot. Smack-dab on my forehead, and not at all in a location where my bangs can hide it. Each month after that first arrival, a new discoloration laid claim to my facial skin—whether an acne scar from too much picking, a sun spot from past (and current—gulp) UV indiscretions or whatever else decided to take up residence on my face. So I’ve made a date with Olay Definity Deep Penetrating Foaming Moisturizer every morning and night to even out my spotty skin, and, I have to say, I’m a bit enamored. It wasn’t love at first sight, however; I’ve never used a foaming moisturizer, and the initial airy feel of it is so unlike the lotions and creams I’m used to that I (unfairly) assumed it couldn’t possibly work as well. Definity proved me wrong, sweeping me off my feet with its high-tech Essential Glucosamine Complex, which purports to penetrate up to 10 layers of the skin’s surface layers, delivering a formula that helps diminish my spotty skin tone while stimulating collagen production to rid me of my nasty fine lines. And that funny foam? Well, we’re BFF now for three reasons: 1) It’s aerated structure holds more than 15 times the volume of an ordinary moisturizer and covers 50% more area than a crème—fancy talk for: it gives me more of what I want without having to use a ton; 2) It’s virtually weightless, and makes my skin feel super-smooth; and 3) It pumps out a little too much for my face, so I slather my neck (which I often neglect) with the remainder. Score!
Yea or Nay: Fluffy foam that delivers on its promise? Out, darn spots and in with Olay Definity!
