Nordstrom Comes to Manhattan

What: Nordstrom, my favorite department store, is one step closer to moving to in Manhattan.

The Lowdown: This from WWD: Nordstrom Nordstrom Comes to Manhattan Inc. has signed a nonbinding letter of intent on the former Drake Hotel, bringing the Seattle-based retailer a step closer to securing a Manhattan location, according to real estate sources.

What I say: For those of you who live outside of NYC, this may seem like no big deal, but to shoppers like myself, who have to drive 45 minutes to get to the nearest Nordstrom, this is a godsend.

I just hope it’s a REAL Nordstrom Nordstrom Comes to Manhattan and not some overpriced Manhattanized version of the store.
