Snazzy racks of designer goodies and perennial sales of yesterday’s trends are all fine and dandy, but what really makes consumers giddy with a desire to purchase? A liberal return policy, which is why Nordstrom was crowned the fairest one of all in the category of favorite fashion retail chain by Market Force Information. Market Force Information studied 4,000+ consumers, and Nordstrom edged out Kohl’s for the number one spot. The rest of the top 5 gang included Macy’s, Dillard’s, and JCPenney. Looking at our list of frequented brands (Hi Sephora, Zappos, and Piperlime!), it’s no surprise that a generous return policy makes consumers tick. It’s smart marketing as it removes the fear of buyer’s remorse from the equation and encourages folks to purchase without reservation. Thoughts? Is Nordstrom the leader of the pack when it comes to fashion retailers, and does a liberal return policy make you buy more? Spill in the comments section!
