News Alert: More Designers on Target’s All-Star Roster

| July 10, 2008 07:30 PM | Posted in , , , , ,

What:

—Richard Chai is the 12th designer to create the next collection for Target’s GO International Program. His contemporary dresses, skirts, blouses and more will be available to Target customers (which, by now, should be all of us) starting August 3 and it will be around for most of August. Prices range from $12.99 to $79.99.

—Accessories designer Dean Harris will be the third to launch a limited edition jewelry line. Her pieces, most of which are nature-related, will be around from August 17 to December 26. The Dean Harris for Target collection ranges from $19.99 to $99.99.

—Revered designer Monica Botkier will offer up a line of purses, clutches, and wristlets starting on July 20. Called Botkier for Target, the accessories will be in stores until September 14, 2008. Price points range from $19.99 to $49.99.

What We Say: We thought we’d be spoiled by Anya Hindmarch and Sigerson Morrison designing for Target, but boy, the designer goods lavished upon us, the bargain shoppers, never end. We’ve stared at the images above for about five minutes, and we cannot tell that it all costs less than $100. We’re excited—Botkier for Target hits stores in only 10 days!

Pictured: A compilation of pieces: Clothes by Richard Chai, purses and wristlers by Monica Botkier, and jewelry by Dean Harris.

What do you guys think of the pieces above? Are you as pleasantly anxious as we are?

Love the dresses!  The clutches look quite similar to the Loeffler Randall clutches from the past winter, though.

Actually, the Botkier bags are already out, at least here in California.  They hit stores last weekend (almost 3 weeks early) although they aren’t available on Target’s website yet.

I agree with the previous poster: the Botkier clutch looks almost identical to the Loffler ones. And the Botkier metallics don’t have the same luxe quality as the Devi Kroell bags from last year’s Target collection.

Updated: as of today (July 13th) the Botkier bags ARE available on Target.com (although you have to do a search on “Botkier” to find them).
