What: For better or worse, our favorite fashion designer wannabe – Lindsey Lohan – is at it again. Although her recent lines (and “consulting” gig over at Ungaro) didn’t go over well in the industry, Lindsey’s still confident in her eye for style … ahem, maybe a stripper’s style. Case in point: she’s expanding her 6126 line. The collection’s very comprehensive, with 100 pieces in all – ranging from leggings (surprise surprise) to bustiers to other separates. While it will be available at retailers like Macy’s and Neiman Marcus, you’ll pay a pretty penny (so far, no less than $100) for every piece.
What The Cut Says: WWD clues us in to the man behind the scenes: Henri Levy, chief executive officer of DNAM Apparel, which will manufacture the line. If his name doesn’t ring a bell, perhaps another line he manufactures will: Ed Hardy. It seems Linds is in good company.
What We Say: Two Words: Ed Hardy… need we say more. We’re looking forward to browsing (making fun of) the collection in person, but if history teaches us anything, it’s that Lindsey’s not a designer. In fact, word has it her “designs” may not be all that original. And we’re definitely not buying a $600 leather jacket made by anyone in her camp.
