New York Fashion Week Fall 2011: Lela Rose

What: TBF attended the Lela Rose Fall 2011 Fashion show and we’re bringing you the scoop.

What They Say: The Lela Rose collection is built on a design philosophy of creating hand finished clothes that exude a casual luxury and refinement. The beautiful embellished fabrics are the foundation of this innovative collection and speak to the elegance of its personality with a nod to the era of glamour.

What We Say: Coming away from the Lela Rose show we were left with a pleasant feeling, though nothing on the runway made us fall over and die. Lela brought the looks that are for the every-day woman in her fall collection and we totally appreciate that because, well, that’s what we are. From sweaters to cocktail dresses, there really wasn’t an item that we wouldn’t wear.

Muted tones were a major part of her color palette, with some brighter hues thrown in there, but we loved her toned down purples, greens and mustard yellows. One of our favorite elements of this collection was the feathered detailing seen on a variety of skirts, which complimented her understated but feminine look. Oh and floral patterns too. Yes, that’s right, we can’t stop talking about floral because it’s everywhere and we love it.

Despite the lack of any big wow-factor, this was a really pretty bunch of duds that we’re mentally logging as fall inspiration. You should do the same.
