The hottest trend to hit the online site is “Do-It-Yourself” Make-up Tutorials. These tutorials, often filmed in bedrooms/bathrooms/closets, feature women (and sometime men) demonstrating everyday make-up tips in front of a camera mounted on their computers.
While you should still have a copy of Kevin Aucion’s “Making Faces”, these videos are a great resource because many of the “experts” use products that you can get at your local drugstore and offer tips to specific groups of women (i.e Asian, African-American, etc) that you may not be able to find in the latest issue of Allure.
Some of my favorite videos
PurseBuzz- A great collection of tutorials, with specific make-up tips for Asian women
Eve Pearl- Emmy Award winning make-up artist Eve Pearl, offers solid make-up tips (like using a salmon colored concealer rather than a yellow concealer under your eye) in her plastic surgery without surgery video series.

i’ve been checking out makeup tutorials on youtube for a while now, it’s interesting to see the disparate makeup techniques different women have…i’m still trying to master the art of the smoky eye.
Greetings all,
While I am ashamed to admit that I do not own a copy of Making Faces, I do recommend Face Forward by Kevyn Acoin and Fine Beauty by Sam Fine.
