Ikat print continues to be a major trend with pieces featuring the print popping up at every store from Forever21 to Macys
to Saks. Ikat print isn’t to be confused with “African Print” – Ikat print involves the weaving of thread into a patterns, while African print usually involves the stamping/painting of a pattern on a piece of fabric. When wearing an Ikat printed item, keep the rest of your outfit simple, as the print IS your signature piece.

I really like the African-inspired look. I came across this picture in Sartorialist.blog:

She is wearing African-print shorts. I’d like to recreate this look. Any ideas on where to find the pieces to create this look? Thanks.
@lparada- We’ll look into it
I am not sure that’s the difference between “Ikat print” and “African print”. It seems to me both parts of your statement can also be true for African print/African inspired fabrics (that Ikat print involves the weaving of thread into a patterns, while African print usually involves the stamping/painting of a pattern on a piece of fabric).
