How to Tweeze Eyebrows

Step 1. First, invest in a good, solid pair of tweezers like the Tweezerman Slant Tweezer ($20, drugstore.com or local Target). They’re a splurge, but if they ever go dull Tweezerman will sharpen them free of charge. You should also purchase a small, round magnifying tweezing mirror. Try the Revlon Magnifeye 10x Tweezing Mirror ($5.99 at your local Target or drugstore.com).  This mirror sticks right on your bathroom mirror, amplifying your brows for an accurate shape.

Step 2 Next decide on which shape you’d like—classic (think Halle Berry), rectangular (Brooke Shields), or rounded (Julia Roberts) and use an eye pencil to draw that outline into your brows. Try Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil ($2.49 at Walgreens).

Step 3 Now you’re ready to pluck. Start by grabbing the stray hairs between your brows. Remember, the inner edge of your eyebrows should be in line with the inner corners of your eyes. If yours don’t match up you could be in unibrow territory, so keep plucking, girl! Continue pulling out the hairs that don’t fall within the lines of your drawing. It’s easy to get carried away, so yank out one hair (in the direction of growth) at a time.  And don’t forget to step back from the mirror, every few moments, to get a better look at the overall shape you’re creating. When you’re done, simply wash away the pencil lines to reveal an expertly crafted set of arches.

**If you’ve over tweezed in the past, you may not have enough brows to create your dream shape. Don’t lose heart! Just use a pencil to create a perfect arch while you wait for your brows to grow in.
