HoliDAILY Contest # 4: Win A Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Fragrance Body Powder Compact

December 1, 2008 10:00 AM | Posted in

From now until Dec. 31st, Kathryn and the gang at TBF will be giving away daily prizes to lucky TBF winners. Check back everyday at 9am to enter.

At midnight, one lucky TBF reader will win this prize, from Donna Karan

The Prize: Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Fragrance Body Powder Compact

Why you want this: We love our readers. We really do, but it took a force of God (really Angela’s petite but surprisingly strong hands) to get Kathryn to give up this prize. The scented body powder compact looks like any old make up compact, but instead of pressed powder, it contains a scented powder that you brush on your body, leaving behind the amazing scent (think soft passion) and a bit of shimmer.

My beauty secret--vaseline. It works as a lip balm, makeup remover, just about anything.

there’s nothing more beautiful than natural, radiant skin- my biggest beauty secret is a good night’s sleep, staying well hydrated, and a great lipgloss!

Use the generic quick dry nail polish aerosol spray you can find at CVS ($1.99), I try to save money by doing my own manicures and pedicures and this dries my nails in literally less than 5 minutes, to the point where I can go about my day and never get a smudge, and with a really high gloss shine like the salon!

My favorite beauty secret has three names - Chipper, Penny and Riley. My three dogs and I go for a long walk every day, on a path through the woods. Good for my health to walk, and good for my spirit to be outside and see the beauty around me. It makes me happy to see my dogs running and having a wonderful time, and they remind me to live in the NOW!

Keeping makeup to a minimum on a day-to-day basis and stepping it up for special occasions seems to work pretty well.

Moisturize!  I put on Moisturizer after a shower or bath to keep skin looking healthy and soft. For my face...always wash off make-up before bed and put on a good facial moisturizer before make-up goes on and when it comes off!  Good healthy soft skin makes you look and feel great!

To combat boot feet between pedi’s, use pumice stone during each bath/shower, dry feet well, don’t forget between toes, instead of lotion use cocobutter vaseline and wear a pair of cotton socks to bed at night, feet will remain soft and moisturized.

To prevent staticky hair, smooth a fabric softener sheet over the top of your hair and flyaways will immediately be under control!

My top beauty secret is a smile.  Pretty much everyone looks better when they’re smiling; people react better to someone else’s smiling face; and when you’re feeling down, forcing a smile can help you start to feel better.

My best beauty secret is to drink a bottle of water (20 fl. oz.) as soon as I get up in the morning and before eating anything.  My skin has been far less volatile since I started doing this.

I have some pretty unruly eyebrows so I learned to pluck the hairs between my browns and any stray hairs. I also learned to never remove any hairs from above my eyebrows.

My beauty secret: plain, clear lip moisturizer. I use it before bedtime and as a base coat for vibrant lipstick colors. The moisturizer makes the color more sheer. With my fair skin, I can’t handle the bold hues in my lipstick palette, but I don’t want to waste them (even if I did get the set for free).

If you don’t have time to wash your hair at night or in the morning, before you go to bed french braid your hair and spray some water on the braids. In the morning you’ll have nice wavy hair and it won’t look as dirty as it would have.

Use regular scotch tape to remove stray glitter from your face.  It will pick it up easily and you won’t ruin the rest of your make-up trying to scrub it off with water or a washcloth.

My best beauty secrets are Proactive for great skin and using SUNSCREEN cuz you have no idea how much the sun affects your skin. Another great one is vaseline, lip plumper, make up remover and it softens rough skin. Another great way to look your best is to go to a department store and get fitte for the right make up, that way you find exactly whats right for you and take the hassle out of looking for the right makeup and it will make you less stressful.

My beauty secret: the kitchen and its products. You can make so many beauty products or hair remedies out of things you can find in the kitchen!

Palmers Cocoa Butter.  It is useful for EVERYTHING from your head to the toe and keeps me moisturized well, especially my lips and my feet.  Sounds weird to put the same thing on both but it does a great job and it lasts a long time.
