The Challenge: As summer winds down, there’s still ample need for bright, flirty frocks like the ones shown here. One is budget, at $49.99, while the other is a budget-buster at $330. So, you tell us—which is which?
So which is which?
The top dress is the budget choice, a Bisou Bisou printed halter for $49.99 at, yes, JC Penney.
The bottom look, though lovely, is the budget-buster—a Shoshanna eyelet dress available at Bloomingdale’s here for $330.

Wow! I like the top one better anyway!
Darn, I guessed correctly (I really liked the bottom)
The cut on the lower one looks better/higher quality/more stylish to me. The model looks classier and it’s styled better – I think the top girl looks stumpy with the skirt length/shoe choice
I actually prefer the top one.
Wow, I like the top one better too. It makes the model’s shoulders look more elegant than the other one, and the overall flow looks better to me.
They are 2 completely different styles. The top one is elegant and classic. The bottom one is fussy and reminds me of a party dress for a 6 year old. The bottom dress is also shorter, which may date it by next year while the top one will still look fine. Also the shoulder cut of the bottom dress is definitely not as flattering as the top one.
The bottom one is adorable. I love the detail. No wonder it cost more. Too bad:(
I guessed right… too bad because I really liked the bottom one. I loved the cut of the dress and it has a more expensive and fashionable look. The top one is cute, but it kinda looks like a regular dress you can find anywhere.
Wouldn’t you guess that I liked the more expensive one?!
I actually tried the JC Penney one on about a week ago. It’s cute, but yellow’s not my color. I’m one of the many that look washed out in yellow. *sigh* such a pretty color… ended up buying my first wrap dress instead. I know.. I can’t believe it took me this long. I just had a hard time getting over the fabric. Stretchy knits usually show every bump, lump and whatever. Totally hot, though!
I like them both, I do like the more pricey one, that is only because I like the fabric. However, I would wear the JC Penney one with no problem.
well good quality stretchy knits don’t show every lump… its the low quality poly that does.
