Like we’ve said before, fashion is all about being inspired by what we see around us, and if what we happen to see is a model walking down the runway, then so be it! And while your big sister may have hated you copy-catting her, designers won’t mind. Promise.
Upon attending Fall 2011 Fashion Week, TBF picked up some fantastic ideas, looks and trends and got to thinking how to create these looks on a budget, or not! Whether you want to splurge or save, you can get the designer looks with minimal effort because we’ve got it all here for you.
The statement scarf is one of our favorite ways to pump up an outfit. Why, you ask? Because scarves come in so many patterns, styles and ways to wear them, that you can find one to fit your exact personality. Like the Custo Barcelona model, we love the infinity scarf look – it’s like a big fat necklace that keeps you warm and of course, fashion-forward.
Here are two similar statement scarves, one expensive, the other affordable. It’s hard to tell the difference, right?
This season at the Tommy Hilfiger show, we saw hats galore, and we loved it. Tommy knows how to do American sportswear for women and so we’ll take note. Like he did in his show, you can take a hat and make an otherwise basic outfit come to life. If you are strutting down the street in a chapeau like this one, you will be noticed.
Spend a ton or spend a little, either way this look can be yours.
Let’s talk skirts. We love ‘em and they should be your new BFF because, if done right, they show off your gorgeous gams, flatter your figure and give you an air of confident femininity. Guess who else loves skirts? Luca Luca, who in this season’s runway show featured gorgeous skirts in a variety of colors. One of our favorites was a mustard yellow, knee-length, textured skirt that we can’t stop staring at and thus we must find elsewhere for prices that are not, so, well, Luca Luca.
Rock this bold skirt look for more or less:
And let’s top this whole thing off with a, very hot right now, Navajo inspired cardigan sweater. At Charlotte Ronson’s Fall 2011 show, we fell in love with this particular slouchy, belted piece of knitwear. It’s comfy, adorable and is the perfect tool to toss on when you’re running out the door or when you’re carefully planning your made-to-look-effortless outfit. Check out our versions in both high and low iterations.
