Harrison & Shriftman Spring Preview:

Harrison & Shriftman covers so many great brands and we were excited to attend their Spring 2011 Preview event and see what was up. Their brands range from affordable to totally lux and of course, we were on the look out for the former.

Two words for you: The Bon-Ton (Or is that technically three?). Cute clothes, great designers and everything is pretty darn affordable for us countin’ the dollars closely. There were some adorable basics by Victor by Victor Alfaro, some chic bold trenches by Relativity, and some chunky, multi-chain jewelry that we loved. Nothing sparkles up an outfit quite like a statement necklace! The Bon-Ton is a regional department store so if you have one near you, definitely check it out.

What we’re most excited about, from this particular preview, is a new denim shapewear brand called Curve Appeal. This isn’t traditional shapewear, mind you, so don’t go picturing girdles or other uncomfortable options you may know of, or use. These jeans, which come in a bunch of different washes and styles (skinny, boot cut, straight leg and beyond), are cute, designed to be comfortable and have multiple elements to make you look and feel better in your everyday jeans. They have a comfort stretch waistband, hip slimmers, tummy flatteners, bottom boosters and forward side seams for the illusion of a slimmer leg. All well and good, right? But let’s look at the price tag. Their suggested retail price? $88.

Uh, where do we sign?! For fashionable jeans that “enhance your curves” as they say, that is a great price point. They’re available at Nordstroms and range from sizes 4-16.

Okay, so now that we’ve come down from our denim overdose, we also want to mention a less budget-friendly but unique feature at the H&S preview. Heat Fashion, is an initiative to bring Australian designers, who otherwise have minimal exposure in America, here to The States. There were some really great pieces that we loved, specifically from Francis Leon. I repeat though, these are not impulse buys but rather investment pieces. The exact price points haven’t yet been decided for America but Leon’s dresses will likely run you a few hundred dollars. Regardless, there were two beautiful zipper-embellished dresses that are timeless pieces, great for winter, spring, summer and fall that you could live a long, long life with you. At least worth thinking about.
