Hard Candy Goes to Wal-Mart

What: Hard Candy cosmetics, the rocker-chic makeup brand best known for its wildly colored nail polishes and eye shadows sold at upscale retail stores, is becoming a little more budget friendly. The company has announced plans to produce a lower-priced cosmetics line specifically for Wal-Mart, which will start rolling out in stores nationwide beginning in September.

What They Say:
“The cosmetics will range in price from $5 to $10, or $6.40 on average, and are designed to appeal to 18- to 35-year-old women who are looking to have fun with their makeup.”

What We Say: Wal-Mart has been doing its best to appeal to a young, fashion-conscious crowd with its Max Azria collection”>Miley Cyrus & Max Azria collection, and this newest partnership with Hard Candy certainly seems like another step in the same direction. We love the idea of being able to buy cutting edge cosmetics for cheaper prices, and can’t imagine ever going back to Sephora to buy Hard Candy nail polish if we can get the same products at Wal-Mart for half the price.
