Below is a guide of some of the top sample sale and sale events in the NYC area culled from our sales database. These dates aren’t “firm”, designers often change the dates of their sales or cancel their sales all together, so don’t go planning a vacation to the Big Apple based upon this list. Although sample sale events are starting to emerge in cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, and Atlanta, there still aren’t many “true” sample sale events outside of NYC. Most of the sample sales take place in NYC because this is where most of the clothing samples are used for fashion weeks, to show department store buyers, etc. There is not as many sample sales true sample sales sales, not sale events showcasing up and coming designers, mostly because of the logistics of moving samples from New York to other parts of the country and just plain regional snobbery. However many pr firms, most notably Billion Dollar Babes (http://www.billiondollarbabes.com) are starting to hold legit sample sales of REAL designers in cities outside of NYC. I’ll keep you posted as I learn more about sales. In the meantime, there’s Saw Grass Mills Outlets. :)
