I’m new to the Budget Fashionista, and love what I see! I’ll be the voice of an underserved community here, and point out that women who wear plus sizes can wear ruffles too!
It’s about the placement and not being too overwhelming (just like for petites!) One of my favorites is the Kiyonna “Vivienne” Cinch dress (sizes 10 – 32W!) that has a flattering ruffle at the neck and cascading down the side. It’s one of the most popular dresses in our store.
My favorite Budget Fashionista pick is the strapless belted dress – the vertical ruffles are so different and surprising.
I must say, I’m not big on the ruffles.
We love this post! Ok ok so maybe the gowns were a bit lackluster this year and not a whole lot of desingers were present, so to speak. True as that may be, we were THRILLED to see so many ruffles on the carpet. We’re really loving this trend and love love Zoe Saldana’s ruffled maroon dress by Louis Vuitton above as well as the many other ruffled ladies of the evening.
We can’t get enough of the ruffle trend right now bc it’s girly, playful and a nice contrast to harder winter clothes. We especially love the 2nd, Arden B dress. We love the ruffle trend so much, we translated it to knits:

Ruffles is making a comeback this 2010 and for me if you wear it right, you’ll benefit from its youthful, flirty and girly look.
