Remember this line from the movie Legally Blonde – “What always makes us feel better, no matter what? A Mani/Pedi of course.”
As dumb as the line may sounds, it really is true. There’s really something both relaxing and exciting about getting one’s fingernails and toenails done. Unlike shopping for designer shoes, its a luxury that’s actually affordable to regular (that is, non-wealthy) women. Now call us crazy (like y’all do for my love affair with Vaseline) but some people, like my friend Sabina, actually prefer to do their own nails at home.

I also give myself (and husband but he would kill me if he knew I told) maincures and pedicures. There is not a real need to go to a salon when you can do them at home. Plus its a fun thing to do with my stepdaughter.
i actually find it more relaxing to do it at home… put on a lil nora jones, pour some milk, veggie oil and lemon juice in the footbath… chat with my girls and my mom… it’s more fun to do it at home… that way i can save up for designer shoes
