Get the Dirt on Organic Farming: Organic Food

by EcoistPaige on January 23, 2008 · 0 comments

If you want to know more about where your organic food comes from and how it’s treated, here’s a chance to get the dirt –- literally.

World-Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF), an international organization that helps link volunteers with organic farms, can help you get in touch with your food. WWOOF-USA lists more than 500 host farms in the United States, including Hawaii and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Volunteers are needed year-round, but now is a good time to look into summer opportunities. Volunteer guidelines, membership enrollment details and a farm directory are available on the website.
