The Budget Fashionista

Fashion Week is in full force and so were your opinions in this week’s Daily Polls.  In case you missed out on the action, here’s what TBF’s community had to say:

~We know that many of our readers would rather “go naked” than wear fur, so it’s no surprise that you were less than thrilled with the new fur vest trend. The majority (35%) said they will forgo this trend, since they believe it’s wrong to wear fur and it’s hard to be sure that so-called faux fur is really fake.  32% like the trend, but would only wear it with faux fur, while only 12% would sport the real thing.  Another 19% love the trend, but won’t be wearing it since they can’t afford genuine fur.

~Do you ever feel like you need to look like Gisele Bündchen in order to pull off the chic looks that high end designers put out each year?  Well, since “change” seems to be the buzz-word of the season, maybe our favorite designers will wise up to the wants of women around the world.  A whopping 72% of readers said they wish taste-making designers would include plus size fashions in their collections, while another 20% would love to see it done, even if they couldn’t afford to buy the clothes.  Only 6% of our readers thought high fashion should be reserved for the ultra-skinny set. But come on ladies, this is a democracy after all, so let’s make fashion for everyone!

~The chignon is a classic hairdo, but in its purest form, it can be a little severe.  This fall, stylists are showing a free-spirited version that’s become the look of the season.  26% said they will update their current chignon styles to match this trend, while 12% had never worn it before and are now tempted by the fresher coif.  32% wish they could wear it, but don’t have the length to pull it off and the remaining 27% prefer to let their locks loose.

~It’s super sleek and a little bit Mod, but one thing’s for sure, if you’re going to rock a graphic sheath dress this Fall, you better have one hot bod, or at least that’s what 26% of our readers who love the look but lack the figure said. Another 16% said they plan on wearing it and another 18% will sport the silhouette, but skip the print.  The remaining 37% said they’re going to pass on this form fitting dress-- it’s just not their taste.

~We all dream of participating in fashion week in some way or another, but not everyone has the same fantasy. Creative types would love to show of their skills as designers (14%) and make-up artists (11%).  23% of you would like to strut your stuff down the catwalk, while 32% would just be happy to watch from the sidelines.  Another 18% would like to make like the Budget Fashionista and report on all the action.

~The spectator shoe is still on the scene with a sassy new update this Fall, but our readers were definitely divided on the trend.  20% said they will absolutely wear the new peep-toe spectator shoe, while 36% would only purchase the bold look if it were on sale.  26%, however, hated the spectator before and say the addition of a peep toe doesn’t help, while another 17% feel like they just can’t pull the shoe off.
