You might have heard of Freecycle. Maybe you’ve been curious to try it. With today’s Green Tip we’re hoping to entice you to try out this wonderful community recycling opportunity. The Freecycle Network is made up of local community groups, moderated by a local volunteer.
Signing up is easy and free. Simply go to the main website at Freecycle.org and type in your city. If you live in a bigger city there might be several options covering specific areas of the city. Once you’ve picked a location, you can see how many members are in your Freecycle group. There are 6,495 people in our network! Can you believe that? 6,495 people we can swap goods with!
Be aware that everything you submit on Freecycle must be just that FREE! This is not a substitute for one of our other favorite websites, Craigslist. But it does offer an awesome recycling opportunity. We have a 13 year old 20″ TV we’re posting on the network today. It’s in perfectly good condition and still has its remote. But most people don’t want to buy a 13 year old TV. But plenty of people will put it to use if it’s free!
Try it out!
