Prada is launching a cheap(er) line of cotton bags this June. The collection of lightweight canvas bags are embellished with select prints from the Prada archive and will retail for $295 (yep, $300 bucks for a yard of cotton) in select Prada boutiques.

I can appreciate that they are trying to be more affordable, but really, $295? For the same price (or less), you could get a nice LEATHER bag at stores like Off 5th, T.J. Maxx, etc. Sorry Prada, but I think I’ll be saving my money.

I think this is absolutely ridiculous… why pay that much for a fabric tote, when for $295 you could get a leather bag from great designers like Michael Kors, Kate Spade or Marc Jacobs!!!
