Feathered Hair: Beauty Trend

| March 6, 2008 07:00 PM | Posted in

What: With a few modern modifications, Farrah Fawcett’s iconic, feathered ’do from the seventies is being brought back in the present day.

The Word: In the March 2008 issue of In Style magazine, hair stylist Robert Vetica shows readers how to create a contemporary version of this look: “A less structured version of the seventies standby feels novel all over again thanks to some key tweaks, namely an off-center part and piecier ends.

Our Word: As long you don’t have to throw on bell-bottoms to complete this look, we’re lovin’ it. This look is glamorous without looking too “doneâ€? or “wing-like,” and it could take you from work to a night out with your friends. According to Vetica, here’s what you need to do:
1) Use an oval bristle brush to assist with your blow-drying. Lift at the roots and pull your hair outward to create volume.
2) Apply a hair volumizer (try mop Volumizing Spray for 6.99) to your strands, then take sections of your hair and wrap them around a 1 ¼ inch barrel curling iron.
3) Loosen curls and spritz hair with a bit of hair spray.
4) Pin the curls around your face and let them set for 15 minutes.
5) Undo pinned curls, then brush them away from your face. Looking for more volume? Just give a little tease to sections you want to inflate. Bosley, here you come!
