There is a fashion god…
Trapeze dresses, babydoll dresses and other styles that made 99.99% of us look like we were in our third trimester of pregnancy WILL NOT make a return next season…. Ring the bells…
I was very excited, darn near giddy, to see at both the BCBG show and Erin Fetherston that the waist has returned, with next spring’s dresses tailored in the middle.
What to Buy Now: Belts, Belts, Belts- especially thin belts and belts that tie in the front.

Yay! I had a baby right before the big billowy shirts became so popular. When it was time to shop for post-pregnancy tops I had a limited choice if I didn’t want to appear like I was still pregnant. May having a waist remain popular for awhile!
i love trapeze and baby doll dresses.
Wasn’t the BCBG show fab!
I agree, I loved the BCBG show.
Whoever thought maternity clothes for the masses was a good fashion move should choose a different career. Why would anyone with a halfway decent figure want to pretend they’re 50 lbs overweight or 8 months pregnant will remain a mystery to me. Once all the hideous ‘babydoll’ dresses I will be able to enjoy shopping again!
a good babydoll or trapeze dress is actually very sexy, because it has to be loose fitting to compensate for the short length. i think a woman’s legs are usually her most attractive attribute and think a babydoll dress, worn the right way can compliment any woman’s shape.
Umm… the waist never left. It’s just that the “fashion experts” had a brain fart and forgot that they need to make normal people look good—not sticks. Ever hear of a sexy stick?
Street fashion is where you need to look to find out what is really going on in the fashion world. For the designer world, look to “fashion” shows.
Did everyone see the Behind the Scenes at Runway BCBG video? They talked about how they had like 10 people backstage tying belts ONLY. Love their long ones.
