Fashion Advice: Removing Make-up Stains
Dear Budget Fashionista,
I wanted to know if you had any advice on removing make-up from your collar while you are at work. I always have a problem with getting make-up on my shirt collars. Due to the fact that I have a short neck and most shirts are fitted on models with elongated necks.
Answer:
Keep a small amount of liquid detergent in your desk at work (you can pour a little in a ziplock bag). Put a little detergent on a cloth or cotton towel (not tissue) and dab at the stain until it is removed.

In addition, there is a sponge on the market that takes off makeup. I think it is made by the same people who make that fashion tape. Look for it on QVC or at Bed, Bath and Beyond.
I have something simpler.. and it takes up so little space. Those tide sticks! Work wonders.. makeup, wine, deodorant stains, you name it.. It works on it. And theres no bleach in them so they work on colors and whites alike. They are literally instant. Go to Bed Bath and Beyond and you can pick up a pack of three for something like 6 - 10 bucks. Can’t go wrong. I have one in my car purse and desk!!
I keeping a Tide Pen in my makeup bag works for me.
1. I agree w/the posters that mention that the Tide pens are great for most on-the-go mishaps. However, that brings me to…
2. Murphy’s Oil. Seriously, if you have ANY kind of fresh stain on almost ANY fabric, this stuff’ll take it right out if it’s too big or too serious for a bleach pen. I’ve gotten black India ink, sweet & sour sauce, and various other goopy gunk out of a white/beige carpet w/Murphy’s… and it works great for makeup (or any other) stains on clothing, too!
