Q: I love gaucho pants, I really do. But every time I try on a pair, they vary in lengths from just below the knee to just above the ankle. What is the correct way to wear these fabulous pants? I don’t want to embarrass myself!
A: Traditionally Gaucho pants should range between 21 inches to 24 inches in length. Seeing that you probably won’t be carrying a tape measure with you the next time your out shopping, follow this rule: Gaucho pants should fall approximately 3 to 4 thumb lengths from the middle of your knee. Any shorter, and the pants will look like skorts, skirt/short combo and any longer, you run the risk of the pants looking like high waters.

the real question should have been…what are the best shoes to wear with gauchos? I have sum wedges to wear with denim ones…but what about the black or brown dressier gauchos?
I would wear a dressier wedge with until the end of the summer. Then I would pair them with a pair of knee high black (or brown) leather boots with at least a 2 inch heel
I have a white pair, they look really good with pointy toe kitten heel slingbacks.
