What: DVF is back in the suing mood, this time taking on Target for allegedly copying one of her prints. Earlier this year, we reported about DVF’s battle with Forever21.
What Others Say: From Businessweek.com:
Diane von Furstenberg Studio LP, in a lawsuit filed in federal court in Manhattan, alleged the Minneapolis retailer is selling a style of dress that bears a print nearly identical to her trademarked “Spotted Frog” design.
What I say: DVF must have a crazy legal bill, cause she’s suing everyone. However, I have an idea . . . why doesn’t Target hire DVF to replace Isaac Mizrahi? It would be a brilliant move for both companies.

While I’d LOVE to see DVF create things in the mass quantities so I could buy them all, I’m actually quite excited to see what Jonathon Saunders will do with his new contract at Target.
And she has the right to sue anyone’s pants off! The designs looked EXACTLY alike. Bollocks!
xoxo.
Agreed. she can and probablu should sue those who copy her.. but at some point you have to change your stragedy.. If I sued someone everytime they copied my ideas (look at how many fashion blogs are now doing “budget” stuff).. I would be dead broke. you can’t sue everyone.. It would be great if they partnered up.. Target fits into DVFs image and ideas
I just received my DVF dres I ordered from Saks. It is a casual spring dress that costs over $300. When I got the dress I was surprised to see it was made in China. How expensive does a line have to be to not be made by slave labor? She might as well make a line for Target.
