When we caught a glimpse of the hottest beauty trends on the A/W runways last winter, we couldn’t wait to start implementing those looks. Well, now that we’ll soon be saying farewell to summer, we can finally start thinking about getting our fall faces on. From cool and casual to evening chic, we’ve rounded up the best ready-to-wear beauty trends you’ll be so ready to wear.
Beauty Trends for Fall 2014
Casual Beauty Trends
Nude Finish: Minimal make-up was seen on several runways which is good news for those who prefer to go natural. To get the bare-faced look use neutral shades on the eyes, sheer tones on the lips and a tinted moisturizer underneath. A soft hued blush will add a hint of color for a barely there finish.
Full Brows: The bushy brow is making another round. So if you’ve already stopped plucking, you’re ahead of the game. For those that feel un-groomed without a regular wax – just outline the shape of your brow with a pencil then fill-in extra color. Brush your brows up to get the full grown effect.
Pale Nails: Shades of white may seem like a summer staple, but they’re making a splash in the season to come. Look for neutrals with a pearly sheen, and file along your nail bed to keep it clean.
Workplace Beauty Trends
Berry-licious Lip: ‘Tis the season of deep, rich hues. Burgundy and berry tones are the way to pucker up just make sure to counterbalance the look by toning down the rest of your make up.
Brown Eyes: Smoky eyes were ubiquitous on the fall runways, but Oscar de la Renta showed a daytime friendly variation. By using brown shadows instead of black, the overall look had less drama without sacrificing sultry style.
Glow-y Gorgeous Skin: Another trend that never strays too far is luminous skin. If yours isn’t exactly up to par, then apply pressed powder with an angled brush. It’ll have less shine than highlighter. Dab it on the top of your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, the edges of your face, a touch on your chin, and above your upper lip. It’ll give you a subtle yet brilliant effect.
Evening Beauty Trends
Metallic Shine: We always notice a rise in jewel tones for fall, but this season is particularly shimmery. Just see how Dior did it for your next big night out.
Bold Liner: Cat eyes, thick lines or smudged just right, eyeliner is a key component to your fall make-up routine. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, apply two or more shades for a full spectrum of color. It’s like lining your liner!
Super Lashes: Think 60’s mod and Twiggy -you’ll want your lashes to stand out with flirty delight. Apply a thick layer of mascara to the top and bottom then clump the lashes together for a spider-y effect. Or you can use fake lashes to achieve the same result.
Gold Tip Nails: If you thought nail art was done, think again. The glamour continues with a touch of gold on the tips. The key to keeping it fab as shown on the Suno runway: don’t worry about a perfect line, just brush the gold across the top for a flashy finish.
