The Lowdown: One of this season’s hottest trends is the oxford shoe. Now when most of us think of Oxfords we think of the traditional version (worn by Lucy from the Peanuts cartoons) or the “Chorus Line” version (worn with a pair of jazz hands). Let those images go. This season’s updated oxford shoes breaks from the traditional black and white and includes metallics, an updated upper that’s inspired by your favorite pair of flats, and colored stitching. The Oxford shoe is a nice change from high, high platform ankle boots and the like. Whilst not quite as glamorous, they can still be dressed up with a great tunic dress and opaques, or cropped skinny jeans or pants. I like them more casually, with jeans and a loose fitting shirt. Oxfords aren’t just for the bowling alley anymore!

I love all these new trends for Fall 2010! I have never been a fan of the ultra high heel, call me crazy but I don’t see the appeal of aching feet after a night of dancing in 4in heels! These oxfords are super cute and would be great casually like @personal stylist said with jeans and blazer or even with tights and a cute dress for a casual but flirty option in the fall. Bring on the cool weather!
