Eyeglasses: Recycle This

It’s been two years…time to get your vision checked again. Afterall, we don’t want to let those peepers view the world through less-than-stellar glasses (and there are some cute new glasses you’ve had your, um, eye on).

You might be tempted to keep that old pair of glasses but most likely you won’t be using them (and if your prescription changes, it’s not a good idea to go between glasses).

So put them to use! (Someone else’s use) Here are some great organizations that will ensure your glasses are used to benefit someone elses’ eyes:

New Eyes for the Needy provides glasses to those in need in both the U.S. as well as overseas.

Unite for Sight will donate your eyeglasses (reading and distance) as well as non-prescription sunglasses to children and adults in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

If you don’t have a lot of time to pack and mail, go the easy route and drop the glasses off at a local collection facility: Goodwill Industries stores, LensCrafters stores, and Lions Club all have drop boxes.
