What: Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation, owner of Van Heusen, IZOD, Bass and many other outlet brands, has teamed up with The Salvation Army for an interesting promotion that will help you save money as well as help others. From April 1st-May 31st, donors who bring clean, gently used donations to participating Salvation Army stores during the event will receive a $10 gift certificate redeemable at any Van Heusen, IZOD or Bass retail location.
From the Salvation Army:
The goal of the campaign is to help replenish the stock of clothing, furniture and household goods at Salvation Army Thrift and Family Stores, some of which have seen dwindling donations and additional demand during the economic downturn. Proceeds from sales at these stores directly support The Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARCs) where more than 300,000 men and women receive treatment for drug and alcohol addictions each year.
What We Say: Helping others and getting our “Sally’s Boutique” on? I LOVE it. This is a perfect example of a business doing a good deed and increasing their bottom-line. Plus all donations are tax-deductible (how many of us could use a tax break or two right now) and go to support Salvation Army programs and services in the local community.
