Does Bluefly Sell Fakes? The Fake Debate

The fake debate continues and apparently our friends over at the internet’s number one designer outlet, Bluefly, is caught up in the middle. There’s been quite a bit of chatter on the net regarding Bluefly’s selling of fake handbags, namely Balenciaga and possibly fake Tommy Hilfiger (really, why in the world would anyone need to sell fake Tommy handbags when you can get them for $19.99 at TJ Maxx).

Now, I’ve bought things from Bluefly before and all the things I’ve purchased have been real. However, where there’s smoke, there’s usually a little simmer of fire. I emailed Bluefly to give them the opportunity to respond and here’s their response:

Yep, nothing….

It’s true.  They are sporting a necklace by Emma and Me Too which is knocking off of Emma and Me but they fail to mention that.  They try to pass it off as the real one which sells for 225 dollars and if you compare the pictures the diamond settings are different.

I’d be wary with Bluefly.  Some of the things are fake.

I just picked up a pair of jeans that were fake from bluefly.  returned them ten mintues ago, but they are branded Paper Denim, but have Banana Republic rivets and Buttons.  pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

I just returned a Chloe Paddington that I bought from Bluefly. I am 95% sure it was fake or at best a second (if Chloe even releases seconds?), though it was an excellent fake. The differences were very subtle – for example the Chloe name on the padlock was not vertically centered, it was set toward the bottom. I did not take it to a store to verify, but I am almost positive it was fake.

YES, BLUEFLY SELLS FAKES!  I bought a Prada bag from them a year ago. I believed in their legitimacy b/c I seen ads in Lucky and Glamour, surely they would not advertise or endorse counterfiting?  The Prada bag had cheap leather handles..a day later the strap ripped!  I had one heck of a time with BlueFly. They refused to refund, I sent it back ..they sent it to a “leather repair shop” for three weeks that glued the strap!!!!!! It broke again, I fought for 7 weeks to get a refund minus shipping costs.  Take it from me- Plan a trip to a Outlet Center like Coach or Burberry, ect. Outta- of -this- world deals that you will not feel sorry for!!!  You know they are real!

  6. don't buy fake if you can't afford real says

So why is it still affiliated with Project Runways? Man thought it would be a credit site selling real stuff since it endorses some of the stuff for the show.

Absolutely Blue Fly sells knock offs! I purchased a Jimmy Choo purse and when it arrived it looked like a Jimmy Who!!!! This purse is ridiculous, buyer beware do not purchase from blue fly. I can’t help but believe all of their merchandise is NOT authenic!!!! I paid $1000.00 for a that looks like I paid $.1 and to make matters worse it’s not Even a good copy!!!

  8. Yep, lots of fakes at BlueFly says

Yep, to my disappointment, BlueFly does indeed sell fakes. My attempt to purchase Koolaburra classic short boot was brought up short by the word “China” in their detail site of origin of fur. Koolaburra does NOT manufacture nor purchase suede/fur from China, it is all handcrafted and “made in Australia”…..if I want cheap imitations I will buy UGG brand or others. Also, a warning to the buyer is that BlueFly was selling them at 50% less than the actuall cost…..that right there should say, “buyer beware”……
