DIY: Fridge Scrabble

Over at Craftster.org, one of the crafty members made a refrigerator scrabble board by taking her Scrabble board to the copy shop and color copying it and laminating it. She affixed magnets (you can find magnet tape at your local craft store between $2 and $3 for a roll) to the backs of the letters.

We love this idea! But you don’t have to copy your game boards. Scour your game closet for old games that have lost half their pieces. Hang the board on your wall, or copy it and get it laminated. Check craigslist, ebay, flea markets, and antique stores for old games you can do this with. Magnet tape (our new favorite craft item) will make anything stick to the fridge, or consider this as a way to spice up your boring basement walls. Trust us, it’s waaaay better than the Scarface poster or the picture of the dogs playing poker.
