What: DesignerApparel.com has an excellent incentive for shoppers to design their own sale on the site. Those who sign up will be entered to win a $5000 shopping spree and the lucky shopper who gets the most friends to sign up and design their own sale, too, will win a Prada purse.
What We Say: Everyone loves a sale and everyone loves $5,000 to spend on designer duds. But is this a giveaway worth turning over your email address and name? We absolutely think so.
Setting up your sale is easy to do and it’s the gift that keeps giving. All you have to do is select your favorite brands from hundreds of options, including Prada, Gucci, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Marc Jacobs, and Burberry. If you’re not too picky about labels, include DesignerApparel.com’s “most popular” handbags, dresses, etc, in your sale.
Don’t worry, you can go back and edit your sale at any time, removing and adding designers as you please. Once your sale is created, choose a brand and then shop by price and/or store, all from the comfort of DesignerApparel.com. If you’re working with a shoestring budget, we advise you to just look at sales under $100 and tune out the rest.
One hiccup is shoppers must navigate their sale by brand, so they can’t really peruse just one sale at once—they must look at multiple sales/deals. That can be a bit cumbersome if you’ve stocked your sale up with 100 of your most beloved brands. Also, the sire draws from a limited merchant pool, which we guess are the folks they have a fee relationship with. We’re not hating on them for making money, it’s just that it limits the stores we can access for deals. It would also be helpful if they allowed you to limit your search by size and set the frequency by which you want to receive the email updates.
When it comes down to it, though, this is a convenient way to shop and with a chance at a $5,000 shopping spree, well, this promotion’s hard to pass up.
