Celebrity Style Deconstructed – Demi Moore

It’s hard to believe that it’s been twenty-six years since we met “Jules” Demi Moore’s character in one of the Brat Pack’s most popular films, “St. Elmo’s Fire”. As stunning now as she was then, Demi’s beauty seems to be timeless, and it is no exaggeration whatsoever to say she is a style icon. If gracing the images of an international Versace ad campaign doesn’t cement one’s style icon status, we don’t know what does! And through it all, Demi has somehow managed to look, well, flawless.

Demi keeps it stylishly simple, mixing the two “colorless” colors with ease and grace. Her porcelain skin and gorgeous dark hair give the theme the extra punch it needs to take it from simply classic to classy. Lucky for us this yin and yang look is not difficult to recreate; keep your palette to just two these two hues and you’re good to go.

It’s possible that Demi Moore has the best hair in Hollywood. She is in good company with a few other ladies in contention – Amanda Seyfried and Jennifer Aniston come to mind – but we think Demi takes the title when it comes to her full, shiny mane. She looks equally fabulous whether it’s full of body and soft waves, ringlet-y curls or pin straight. The piece de resistance is the high gloss shine. Let’s just call her the Sheen Queen, shall we? If you want your hair to look as good as Demi’s all you need is the right tools, a great hairdresser and, if your hair is on the shorter side, patience. Trust us, once your hair is as long and glossy as Demi’s, you’ll know it was worth the wait!

Demi knows exactly what type of dress flatters her slim figure: the shift. Sleeved or sleeveless, this body conscious style is high on femininity while still being low-maintenance and super easy to wear. This lady-like style is a staple in Demi’s wardrobe and, if you admire her style, it should be one in yours, too!

2. Checked shift dress $79.90 from Zara
3. Red sleeveless shift $34.14 from Asos

Demi’s Brat Pack days may be long gone (along with the big, big hair of the mid-80’s, thank goodness!), but Demi has won a place in our hearts. Not only through her unforgettable film roles — Diana Murphy in Indecent Proposal, the tough talking Navy lawyer in A Few Good Men, the heartbroken young widow in Ghost, the hardcore recruit with the ability to do one-armed push-ups (!) in GI Jane. She has evolved into a woman who emulates all the great characteristics of a style icon: she’s flawless, fabulous, and more than anything else, fearless.
