Nearly 55 percent of the world’s population has brown eyes — which means brown is the world’s most common eye color. But what is common need not be boring. Brown eyes are actually super versatile when it comes to makeup, so you can wear a different look every day of the week if you want to.

Get inspired to make your chocolate-colored peepers pop with these striking makeup looks for brown eyes.

Makeup for Brown Eyes

Brown with a dash of pink

A swipe of mocha brown underneath the eye pairs magically with a sparkly pink on the lid, as @dilansabah shows us here. The pink is framed by a brown-black shade at the eyelashes and a soft gold tone above the crease. A bit of liner at the tear ducts and ultra lush lashes complete a totally glamorous look.

Green and gold

@julierouxmakeup adds a pop of green to frame these beautiful brown eyes. Her eye shape is defined by black liner on the upper and lower lids, and the top lid is accented with a sparkly, deep gold shadow. Coordinating neutral tones, sans sparkle, are used in and above the crease. The statement comes from that bold green at the lower lid, and the look is finished with eyelashes and mascara.

Subtle and fabulous

The brown-eyed lady with statement eyebrows doesn’t need a smokey eye, as demonstrated here by @rexadams_. Black liner around the entire eye is offset with brown and plum-toned shadow.

Midnight sky

You can create tons of contrast for those brown eyes by layering blue shadows on the upper and lower lids. Here, @nmstylefolder anchors the blue tones with a black liner on the inner lid, all the way around the eye. The lighter, baby blue shadow at the inner corner brightens the look and makes the eye look bigger.

You don’t always need liner below the eye, as shown here by @lizzlookz. Recreate this look by pairing your favorite gold shadow with a jet black, liquid liner. Then add in a swipe of mocha at the crease, plus silvery shimmer at the inside corner and brown bone.

The cool cat

Here, @whitneysiudzinksi steps into the cool color palette with her cat-eyed style. The meticulous application of that jet-black liner creates a perfect backdrop for the lavender and teal shades on her upper and lower lids.

Plum gold

A deep brown eye color is set off nicely with a plum shadow, teamed with gold and black. Here, @ingrid_makeupartist lines the entire eye with black before adding in the statement plum and shimmery gold on the lower and upper lids. A dash of pink at the inner corner adds brightness and a soft neutral at and above the crease adds depth.

Even if you don’t care for bright colors and shimmer, you can still make an impact, as @danielle_bellas does here. Her look features a dark liner all the way around the inner lid, surrounded by a smokey shade of almond. Finish with mascara and your favorite sexy hairdo.

Which look do you love for your brown eyes?
