As of 10/14: $331 raised for the Breast Cancer Research Fund
Again, you don’t have to do a thing other than post a comment on on TBF and I’ll donate a dollar to the Breast Cancer Research Fund. The comment can be on ANY TOPIC, old or new, so feel free to look through the archives. My goal is for us to donate at least $1000 dollars. So we have 669 more comments to go.
On a another, very interesting, note. I’ve had quite a bit of difficulty finding companies/services that donate 100% of the net profits ( that’s after they’ve covered their costs) from breast cancer awareness products to the fight against breast cancer.

You’re doing a fantastic job – even $300 is a worthwhile donation! Good luck!
Count me in to support Breast Cancer Research!
It’s so awesome that you’re doing this!
that’s why i don’t like the breast cancer awareness products…
Wow great cause!
I agree- I enjoy all the pink paraphernalia, but it’d be nice if these big businesses donated all 100% profit towards the cause. It’s a great thing you’re doing
Yay! What a great thing to do Ms. Fashionista. And the stirrups should stay where they belong…on horses! Thanks for a great blog.
Awesome thing you’re doing. I love the site and now even more.
I am mostly posting to raise a dollar, but YES i agree about the pink products! i have the same issue with the “Red” campaign for africa! some places don’t even seem to let you know how much they are donating for their pink (or red) merchandise! i wish there was a website to monitor that stuff. if anyone knows of any please post!
What a great cause to donate to. I really admire your generosity.
It’s great that you’re donating! Keep up the good work!
I echo what Kathmia said; it’s sad to see companies take advantage of our emotions and charity to market pink products this time of year. The BCRF has a well organized page with all the pink products (http://www.bcrfcure.org/part_pinkprod.html), and they also plainly state how much goes to charity; sadly, it’s only a dollar or a set amount in most cases. What does a company need my purchase for if they’re donating a set amount anyway? A quick scan of just the beauty items showed only 2 companies donating 100% of net proceeds (lesportsac and Sonia Kashuk – go Target!). I also know that philosophy donates 100% net proceeds for their shower for the cure 3-in-1 (something they do with all of their charitable products).
Also, where are all these charitable companies during the rest of the year? Why don’t we see ovarian cancer items or women’s heart health items everywhere?
This is a wonderful thing you are doing – thank you!
Just supporting a great cause while learning about being fabulous for less!
Thanks again (and always)!
I am super excited to check out Simply Vera. I received a Kohl’s gift card for my birthday last week.
Have you checked the BCRF site? I remember seeing one of the companies donating 100% net profit, though I can’t tell you which exactly. (I’m sorry.)
BTW, the site is a .org. The .com takes you to porn…
Since my mom was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and had a mastectomy last week, I’ve become very aware of all things breast-cancer related. Way to go! Keep up the good work.
That’s a great thing you’re doing. You go girl !
Did everyone see the two-page feature on Kathryn in yesterday’s Sunday Daily News?
pls do not publish my email address

Does this really surprise you? I’d say that the vast majority of companies use ‘pink’ products more as a marketing ploy than anything else. “We’ll donate a portion of the proceeds, up to a dollar!” But all of the detail is buried in the fine print. So, instead of buying pink blenders, and pink purses, and pink laptops… just donate directly to the cancer organization of your choice. Since it’s October, donate to a breast cancer organization. I’d be willing to bet almost each month has a different cancer awareness…
good work!
Thanks for your support to a cause that is personally very important to me! Keep posting comments fashionistas!
Kudos to you for doing this for a worthy cause. I also don’t get how major companies, who make millions, and more, a year, only give a small percentage of their pink products’ profits to breast cancer research. I know every bit counts, but for sure certain companies(not naming names) who can charge about $80 for a t-shirt, can offer more than a small portion of their profits. Only an observation. I will only give to those who give at least 50 percent. Target is one company who always seems to give generously and that’s why I’d rather buy their products than shop elsewhere.
yay! donate!
Great cause! You go girl!
