Best Luggage on a Budget: Reader Advice

| July 5, 2008 06:00 PM | Posted in ,

Summer travel is pricey enough without having to figure out how to replace that tired carry-on on a budget. Still, even if we can only afford to check one bag (or are reduced to abandoning our fabulous new wedges so we can cram it all into one measly carry-on), we’d like that bag to be, well, super cute. We kind of like Overstock.com, assuming you’re planning ahead of time and can wait for something to be shipped. But what’s your fave source for great luggage on a budget?

I’ve seen some good deals on overstock and ebags.com but so far haven’t bought luggage online. I’d really like to try it out in person- roll it around a store, inspect how securely zippers are sewn in, see how sturdy the bags seem- before purchasing. For in-person inspections and budgetary needs, TJ Maxx and Marshalls and the like have been the best bet for me, though sometimes Sears has amazing sales on luggage.
