Best Foundation on a Budget: Reader Advice

| February 19, 2008 11:00 PM | Posted in

Getting the perfect foundation is a tricky thing—the right finish, the right color. Oh, and we’d like to maintain moisture—but not too much. And make it last, while you’re at it. It’s a lot to pack into one little product. We have faith, however, that you can find a great foundation for less—Angela’s kind of on the mineral bandwagon at the moment, still loving her Sonia Kashuk “Sheer Magic” mineral trio from Target. We want to make sure we’re getting the most for our money, however, so share the wealth—what are your picks for a fabulous foundation on a budget?

Their shades are amazing—I have very fair but olive skin, and foundations are always too pink for me.  But here they have super fair to dark, and they’re working on improving their darker skin shades.

And best of all, you get to try a sample kit with a few different foundations for…FREE!

I love Cory Cosmetics Mineral Foundation. From all the foundations I have tried it has the best coverage but allows the skin to breathe. Also it offers broad band UV protection and is somewhat waterproof. I only have to use a little at the time so it lasts a long time. I like how its available in cool, warm, neutral, and peach tones.

i normally shell out for origins or lorac because i have sensitive, acne prone skin. i actually like cover girl’s trublend foundation, it’s got nice coverage, but it can make me break out.

I just bought the Maybelline Bare Minerals and love it.  I had used Bare Escentuals for a long time and I like this just as much.  That’s my two cents!

I have oily and acne prone skin so it is hard to find a foundation that stays and won’t make me break out.  I’ve used Maybelline Everfresh Foundation for years now and it works great for me!

I use Cover Girl Advanced Radiance Cream foundation. I really like it. It doesn’t scream to the world that I have wrinkles like mineral makeup does, and it gives a bit more coverage. It blends in very nicely.
