As winter marches on, we find it more crucial than ever to have a great budget moisturizer in our budget beauty arsenal. It’s easy to be tempted to spend too much, but the truth is, you don’t need to. Angela, for example, is swearing this year by Pond’s Mend and Defend Intensive Protection moisturizer (with SPF 15 of course)—it’s rich but not greasy, keeps skin hydrated all day, and smells pretty good, too.
On the topic of body moisturizers I’m a big fan of Vaseline Petroleum Jelly, however the super budget moisturizer ( a tub costs less than $4 and last about 3 months) can feel super heavy. So I’ve recently switched to the Vaseline Cocoa Butter Body Gel , which retails for around $6 at your local drug store. The gel is super light and smells amazing. I also like the Mango line of body butters at The Body Shop (which you can always find on sale).

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing works for me year-round. Mind you I don’t live anywhere REALLY cold and dry (NC) but its moisturizing, light and never greasy.
I personally love <a href=“http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=71120&catid=21462”>Pond’s Dry Skin Cream</a>. I may have to switch to the one with the SPF though.
If you haven’t discovered ‘Made from Earth’ yet, their “Vitamin Enhanced Moisturizer” cream is marvelous. It’s worth every penny – a jar will last you forever since there’s no water in it, it’s a very concentrated and rich emulsion of natural ingredients. it heals uncomfortable dry patches anywhere on your body, it softens cuticles, it makes a great eye cream when my eyes are irritated by allergies.
It is a little rich and heavy for a regular face moisturizer for me (my skin is normal although it’s a little dry in the winter), although from time to time if my face is feeling tight I will dab on a little at night.
